Volunteer with us! We’re still looking to fill a few positions to help us continue growing as a community and collective. Please email us at ciaomtlorg@gmail.com or through our contact form if you fit any of these descriptions below.
Social Media Coordinator(s)
Join our social media team! We all collaborate on creating content, but need help managing our Facebook and Twitter pages. Respond to messages and comments; share, retweet, like, and engage with followers; and help us grow our audiences. Ensure that all posts follow accepted standards for accessibility. Work closely with the other social media coordinator(s), communications coordinator, and historical coordinator. Time commitment: 3-5 hours per week.

Newsletter Coordinator
Put together our monthly newsletter! Work closely with the communications coordinator, historical coordinator, and the rest of the team to collect relevant content. Our current newsletter format includes: a message from C.I.A.O. headquarters (to be drafted by newsletter coordinator), resources, calls to action, historical blurb, what we’re reading/watching/listening to, and an organization spotlight. Must be bilingual (English-French); familiarity with Italian is a plus. Comfortable working with MailChimp or openness to learning! Time commitment: 10-15 hours per month.
Fundraising Coordinator(s)
Lots of independent work planning and coordinating fundraising initiatives (every few months). Sustained contact with other orgs and non-profits. Time commitment: 2-3 hours per week, but can be more when a fundraiser is planned.
Facilitator(s)
Planning and coordinating workshops and events (i.e.: virtual talks, hang-outs, etc.). Contacting collaborators, like guest speakers. Working closely with fundraising coordinator(s), historical research coordinator(s), and education/resources coordinator(s). Time commitment: 2-3 hours per week, but can be more when an event is planned.
Education/Resources Coordinator(s)
Creating and sharing resources on organizing, mutual aid, social justice, etc. Working with social media coordinator(s) to plan series and content for Instagram; historical research coordinator(s) to build up resources library/database on our shared Google drive; as well as facilitator(s). Helping with zine project alongside the zine coordinator(s). Time commitment: 2-5 hours per week.
If you are unable to commit to a coordinator or facilitator role but would still like to get involved, please be in touch! We could always use a hand with building further community connections, creating our zines, making graphics, and coming up with ideas for future initiatives and goals.
Our virtual weekly meetings take place Wednesdays from 7-8 p.m ET.
At the moment, we are a completely volunteer-based organization and unfortunately cannot offer honoraria or pay, which is why we keep work collaborative.
